Troubleshooting DSL:

Step 2: No Synch

You have determined that the DSL is not in synch.

Follow the steps to determine what is wrong.

  1. Power Cycle (turn-off and turn-on) Modem, computer and any other device.
  2. Check for Dial-tone (Does not apply to SDSL accounts)
  3. Check for filters.
    • Filters should be installed on every device that is connected to the DSL service. These include, but are not limited to: satellites, answering machines, alarm system, fax machine, extra phones.
  4. Try a different phone jack
  5. Make sure customer has no phone system.
  6. Try unplugging everything in the house.
  7. As the last test, have customer connect to the NID, to determine if the problem is in the house or outside.
  8. If problem persists, then enter TT with the appropriate Telco.
