Troubleshooting DSL:
Step 2: No Synch
You have determined that the DSL is not in synch.
Follow the steps to determine what is wrong.
- Power Cycle (turn-off and turn-on) Modem, computer and any other device.
- Check for Dial-tone (Does not apply to SDSL accounts)
- Check for filters.
- Filters should be installed on every device that is connected to the DSL service. These include, but are not limited to: satellites, answering machines, alarm system, fax machine, extra phones.
- Try a different phone jack
- Make sure customer has no phone system.
- Try unplugging everything in the house.
- As the last test, have customer connect to the NID, to determine if the problem is in the house or outside.
- If problem persists, then enter TT with the appropriate Telco.
