Sandra L. Keller
(1952 - 2008)

MONTPELIER - Sandra Lynne Keller, 55, of Montpelier and formerly Norfolk, Va., died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan.
Born July 16, 1952, at Montpelier, she was the daughter of Barbara Jean (Bode) and James A. Keller.
A 1970 graduate of Montpelier High School, she received her bachelors degree in fine arts from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., in May 1991.
While in Virginia, she was a freelance artist with many of her works being sold at local art shows and being exhibited at the Toledo Museum of Art.
For many years, she was a substitute art teacher in the public school systems. Most recently, she was employed by Handelmans as a retail merchandiser, primarily in Bryan.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Montpelier.
Surviving are two daughters, Stacy N. Geleide of Bryan and Lisa M. Geleide of Montpelier; a grandson, Timothy J. Geleide of Montpelier; a sister, Holly (and husband, Steve) Blossom of Brutus, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Julie Franco of Long Island, N.Y.; and three nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth E. Geleide, in September, 1977.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. JohnÕs Lutheran Church with Pastor John H. Crilley to officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. JohnÕs Lutheran Church or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

James E. Workman

HOUSTON, Texas - James E. Workman, 74, died Friday, April 25, 2008. He was born Sept. 1, 1933, at Bryan, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Workman, seven children, 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one sister.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Earthman Downtown Chapel, 2420 Fannin, Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Recreation Acres, 5810 Spindle, Houston, Texas 77086.

Wallace 'Reed' Cash Jr.
(1953 - 2008)

ALVORDTON - Reed Cash, 55, of Alvordton, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Cleveland Clinic.
Born April 28, 1953, at Adrian, Mich., to Mary Alice (Greier) and Wallace Reed Cash Sr., he married Kristine Kelso on Feb. 21, 1986, at West Unity, and she survives.
He was employed at Fayette Auto Parts.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mary Alice Trull of Leesburg, Fla.; two sons, Dustin Shane Cash of Napoleon and Jeremy Odell Cash of Bowling Green; two grandsons, Brandon and Bradley Cash; and a sister, Cathy Jo (and husband, Glen) Root of Leesburg, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Bobbie Trull.
Visitation will be Monday from noon until 2 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Fayette.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Crystal Goodnight to officiate. Memorials may be made to the family.

David R. Wofford
(1956 - 2008)

ASHLEY, Ind. - David R. Wofford, 51, of Ashley, died Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at his home.
Born Nov. 20, 1956, at Covina, Calif., to Levena (London) and David "Clifford" Wofford, he married Diane Fike on Feb. 14, 1997, at Auburn, and she survives in Ashley.
He had served in the United States Navy as a mechanic for seven years and worked as a portfolio manager with Aro Fluid Products/Ingersoll-RAND of Bryan, Ohio, for more than 30 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father in Kingman, Ariz.; four daughters, Melanie (and husband, Andrea) DiTommase of Fort Wayne, Laura Wofford of Edgerton, Ohio, Angela Shibler of Fort Wayne and Kristy (Dan) Helmkamp of Kendallville; a son, Blaine Thacker of Hicksville, Ohio; eight grandchildren; a sister, Fay (Carle) Basenberg of Marino Valley, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Kathy Collins.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with James McPeak to officiate. Burial will be in Sedan Cemetery, rural Corunna. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Orland American Legion.

Hulda Raker-Smith
(1910 - 2008)

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Hulda J. Raker-Smith, age 97, formerly of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008 at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility in Hillsdale. She was a member of the Bryan Church of Christ, the churchÕs Dorcas Circle and the Bryan Hospital Auxiliary.
Special thanks to the First Church of Christ for their cards and newsletters. She enjoyed them very much. Special thanks to the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility for all their care and compassion. She made many friends there.
Hulda loved her family and friends. She will be sadly missed.
Born July 11, 1910 in Fulton County, Ohio, she was the daughter of Roy and Lelia (Burdue) Pancoast. She married Richard Raker and he preceded her in death in 1981 after 53 years of marriage. She later married B. Nelson Smith and he preceded her in death in 1994. Surviving are her son, Ned and wife Debbie Raker of Jonesville, Michigan; stepson, Terry Smith of Arizona; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; six stepgreat-grandchildren. Her parents, husbands, her son, Dick Raker in 1994, and grandson, Chris Raker in 2006, preceded her in death. A dear life-long friend, Audrey (Orville) Scott with whom she shared many fond memories over the years survives as well.
Funeral services for Hulda Smith-Raker will be held on Thursday May 1, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory of Bryan with Pastor Larry Snavely of the Bryan First Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home prior to the service.

Alfred P. Furko
(1944 - 2008)

ARCHBOLD - Alfred P. Furko, 63, of Archbold, died early Sunday morning, April 27, 2008, at the Toledo Hospital, where he was a patient for nine days.
Born Nov. 5, 1944, at Oakmont, Pa., he was the son of Mary (Siplive) and Joseph Furko Sr.
He received his bachelor of science degree from Defiance College and his master's degree from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was a teacher, coach and counselor at Liberty Center High School for many years, and since retirement worked with the Fulton County Senior Center. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Archbold and the Eagles Lodge, and an associate member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Wauseon.
Surviving are his parents, Joseph and Mary Furko Sr. of Archbold; a brother, Joseph (and wife, Judy) Furko Jr. of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and a sister, Virginia Buehrer of Archbold.
Private services will be today at Short Funeral Home, Archbold, with Father Gary M. Ferguson to officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Senior Center.

Michael D. Phillips
(1949 - 2008)

EDON - Michael D. Phillips, 58, of Edon, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Bryan.
Born Oct. 12, 1949, at Bryan, he was the son of Anita I. (Tarter) and Charles H. Phillips.
Employed as a security guard with Pinkerton Security for the last 10 years, he previously worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and served in the National Guard. Surviving are three children, Michele (and husband, Joe) Thiel of Edon, Melissa (Kyle) Martin of Holland, Ohio, and Mendy (Jim) Garron of Gloucester, Mass.; six grandsons; his mother, Anita I. Phillips of Bryan; his father, Charles H. Phillips of Edon; two brothers, Charles H. Phillips Jr. and James A. Phillips, both of Maui, Hawaii; and three sisters, Mary A. (William) Prince of Edon, Vicki S. Rendle of Bryan and Cynthia M. (Doug) Kurial of Tampa, Fla.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Winston Burton to officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Blakeslee.

George Amos Easterday
(1916 - 2008)

SEBRING, Fla. - George Amos Easterday, 91, of Sebring died Monday, March 31, 2008.
Born June 2, 1916, at Brewster, Minn., he and his wife, Jean, moved to Sebring in 1973 from Bryan, Ohio.
Having served in the U.S. Army during World War II, he was awarded the Purple Heart in addition to the American Air Force, American Defense, African and European Campaign medals. He also earned the Good Conduct Medal for honor, fidelity and efficiency. He served from June 1941 to July 1945 and drove a tank with the 751st Tank Battalion.
He fought in battles in North Africa and across Europe, including the D-Day invasion.
He was a retired 18-wheel truck driver who drove for Safeway Truck Lines of Chicago, Ill.. and Refrigerated Foods.
A lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4743 in Lakefield, Minn., he also was a life member of Ohio Chapter 83 of the Disabled American Veterans and had been a member of the Moose Club in Berea, Ohio. He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are two brothers, Lloyd of Lakefield, Minn., and Harold of Paynesville, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jean; his parents; three brothers and one sister. All of his brothers served in World War II with four returning home. One was killed in action and is buried in the Philippines.
Cremains will be placed in a niche with his wife, Jean, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Avon Park, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arnold G. Armbruster
(1923 - 2008)

ANGOLA, Ind. - Arnold G. Armbruster, 84, of Angola, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Lakeland Woods Nursing Center, Angola. Born Aug. 27, 1923, in Henry County, Ohio, to Lena (Kregel) and George H. Armbruster, he married Orianna R. Rohlf on Dec. 16, 1944, at Defiance, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 20, 1984. He then married Esther Warner on Dec. 27, 1993, at Fort Wayne, and she preceded him in death on March 9, 2003. Formerly a long-time resident of Northwest Township, Ohio, and a resident of Napoleon, Ohio, from 1993-2007, he was a farmer and milk truck driver and was formerly employed by Zeller Corp.
Most recently, he had been a greeter at Wal-Mart in Napoleon for 14 years.
His memberships included Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont, Ind. He was active in the Henry County Senior Center, where he delivered Meals on Wheels. Surviving is a son, John (and wife, Jo) Armbruster of Edon, Ohio; two daughters, Barbara (and husband, Phillip) Ellis of Angola and Lois (Roger) Zeedyk of Hicksville; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Polly) Armbruster of Napoleon; and six stepchildren. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday after 2 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont with Pastor Wayne Berckesch to officiate. Burial will follow in Edon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont or the Henry County Senior Center.

Leina B. Likes
(1924 - 2008)

Leina B. Likes, 84, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.
Born March 16, 1924, at Hicksville, to Glennis (Otis) and Don Evans, she married Alvin J. Likes in 1944 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1988. A 1942 graduate of Hicksville High School, she was a lifelong homemaker.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bryan, where she was a coffee hostess, and a former member of Sherwood Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are a son, Ed (and wife, Barbara) of Bryan; a granddaughter, DeeAnna Brightbill of Stryker; a niece and nephew whom she raised, Darlene (and husband, Rick) Williams of Vincennes, Ind. and Roger (Carol) Zimmerman of Macedonia; a brother, Bob Evans of Hicksville; and two sisters, Avy Ginter and Lola Myers, both of Hicksville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Farrell Evans, and a sister, Verena Maxwell.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Scannell to officiate.
Interment will be at a later date at Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville.

Leo L. 'Jeff' Smith
(1917 - 2008)

STRYKER - Leo L. "Jeff" Smith, 90, of Stryker, died Sunday evening, April 27, 2008, at Hillside Country Living, near Bryan. Born Aug. 15, 1917, at Jefferson Township, Williams County, to Grace (Shaffer) and Harlan Smith, he married Nadene L. Fleagle on Jan. 22, 1942, and she preceded him in death in 2000.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked for many years farming with Christy Brothers and had also worked for many years at the Stryker Elevator. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Stryker.
Surviving is a daughter, Sharon L. (and husband, James) Helbig of Bryan; a son, Charles R. (and wife, Trudy) Smith of Nelsonville; three grandchildren, Stacy (Joseph) Knueve of Kalida, Jonathon (Heather) Helbig of Gibbstown, N.J., and Joel (Sarah) Helbig of Toledo; three great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jillian Knueve of Kalida and Kaitlyn Helbig of Gibbstown, N.J.; two brothers, Maurice (Connie) Smith of Montpelier and George Smith of Wauseon; three sisters, Modella (Jack) Wallace of Chicago, Lillian (Morris) Towns of West Unity and Marjorie (Ray) Gorrell of Xenia; three brothers-in-law, Carl North of Indianapolis, Ind., Lanny (Sandy) Fleagle of West Unity and Dick Wheeler of Stryker; and three sisters-in-law, Mary Fleagle of Stryker, Ruth Ann Smith of Stryker and Kitty Coulon of Bloomington, Ill. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elgie (Clara) Smith and Russell Smith; five sisters, Ruth (Carl) Johnson, Irene (Milton) Werder, Pearl (Tyrus) Whetro, Nellie Jean Stickroth and Mary North; sisters-in-law, Marybelle (Mike) Donley and Nancy Wheeler; and a brother-in-law, Joe Fleagle. Michael Lee Keesbury
(1975 - 2008)

MONTPELIER - Michael Lee Keesbury, 32, of Montpelier, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at his residence.
Born May 6, 1975, at Montpelier, he was the son of Carol L. (Michael) and Jerry E. Keesbury and they survive in Montpelier.
A 1994 graduate of Montpelier High School, he had worked at various businesses and in construction throughout Williams County his entire life.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are three children, Jayden M. Keesbury of Edon, Amaryus A. Ayers of Pioneer and Elizabeth K. Keesbury of Montpelier; a sister, Leisa L. Keesbury of Bryan; a niece, Kesia L. Keesbury of Bryan; paternal grandfather, Lee Keesbury of Montpelier; and maternal grandparents, Dane and Marge Michael of Montpelier.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Mary A. Keesbury, on July 31, 2003.
Private family services will be at Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier, with Father Tom Odie to officiate.

Orval 'Jack' K. Davis
(1909 - 2008)

ROCKFORD - Orval "Jack" K. Davis, 99, of Rockford, died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
Born April 13, 1909, to Cora (Anselman) and Bert Davis, he married Evelyn Louetta Counterman on Feb. 6, 1929, and she preceded him in death on May 26, 1992.
He retired from Davis Hay and Straw in Rockford where he was owner and operator.
A resident of Rockford since 1937, he was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Melvin Davis of Bryan and Richard Keith Davis of Rockford; a daughter, Sharon Ames of Fort Wayne, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Woodrow and Robert, and an infant sister.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday in the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Berne to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Anna S. Semelka Flory
(1920 - 2008)

WAUSEON - Anna S. Semelka Flory, 87, of Wauseon, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at her home.
Born Oct. 25, 1920, in Toledo to the Frances (Stern) and Joseph Pivonka, she married Fred Semelka on Dec. 18, 1937, and he preceded her in death in 1990. She married Gladwin "Monk" Flory in 1992 and he preceded her in death in 2006.
A lifelong homemaker, she also was employed at Sheridan-Globe Corp. in Wauseon. She was a member of First Christian Church in Wauseon, a former president of the Wauseon Community Garden Club, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and was involved in the Christian WomenÕs Fellowship of First Christian Church. Anna also was involved in the Child Conservation League of Fulton County. She was very proud of her Czechoslovakian heritage.
Surviving are sons Fred (and wife Pat) Semelka of Addison, Mich., and Ron Semelka of Wauseon; grandchildren Rhonda (Mike) Fifer, Gina Saaf, Kammie and Keith Grubb, Tim and Karrie Thomsen, and James Marr, all of Wauseon; and great-grandchildren Jennifer and Michael Perez, Casey, Brook and Danielle Saaf, all of Wauseon.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husbands, were her parents, six sisters and two brothers.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Wauseon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Wauseon, with Pastor Mitch Maxted officiating. Interment will follow in Wauseon Union Cemetery.

Michael W. Hartman
(1953 - 2008)

TAVARES, Fla. - Michael W. Hartman, 54, of Tavares, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, after a brief illness with leukemia.
He was born May 27, 1953, at Bryan, Ohio, and graduated from Bryan High School and the University of Cincinnati.
He moved to Florida in 1978, retired at the age of 50 and moved to Lake County to care for his parents.
Surviving are his parents, Ronald and Marcene Hartman of Tavares; a sister, Pamela Sheets of Tavares; brothers, Ronald (and wife, Susan) of Howey-in-the-Hills and James (Donna) of Winter Park; eight nieces and nephews, one great-nephew and two great-nieces. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Steverson, Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Larry D. Davidson
(1955 - 2008)

WAUSEON - Larry D. Davidson, 52, of Wauseon, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon. Born June 24, 1955, in Wauseon to Bessie (Simmons) and Lawrence ŌBudĶ Davidson, he married Jane Roth on Aug. 17, 1974, and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the Wauseon area, he worked in custom farm application, construction and maintenance for Clinton Township. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Tori J. Davidson of Maumee; his father and stepmother, Lawrence "Bud" and Elnora Davidson of Liberty Center; and sisters Sandra Davis and LuAnn (and husband Randy) Read, both of Wauseon.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Archbold.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Tedrow United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin A. Cochran officiating.
