Lady Bears, Locos ready for lift-off
There is a two-way tie for first place in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League standings as Swanton and Bryan are tied with 4-1 records as the two teams head into league action on Friday night.
Bryan entertains Montpelier as the Lady Bears look to make it two straight against the Lady Locos this season. The Lady Bears defeated Montpelier, 54-41, in the first round of the Lady Bear Holiday Classic in December.
Swanton is 12-1 overall as they travel to Delta to face their Route 2 archrivals. The Lady Bulldogs are averaging 60 ppg. and features the areaÕs top scorer in Abby LaVigne who is averaging 17 ppg.
In other league games, Evergreen invades Liberty Center and Archbold hosts Patrick Henry.
In the Buckeye Border Conference, Stryker looks to claim a piece of the conference crown tonight when the Lady Panthers entertain Edon.
The Lady Panthers, who are 6-0 in the BBC and 12-1 overall, have a two-game lead on Edon who is 4-2 in the conference and 10-5 overall. Stryker defeated Edon, 57-42, in their earlier meeting this season.
Elsewhere in the BBC, Pettisville visits Hilltop and North Central hosts Fayette.
In the Green Meadows Conference, Holgate and Tinora are tied for the top perch in the standings with 3-0 records while Fairview and Wayne Trace are one game behind the co-leaders at 2-1.
Holgate, who is 10-4 overall, invades Fairview to face the much-improved Lady Apaches (5-6) who are riding a three-game winning streak. Tinora, who is 9-4 overall, entertains Hicksville (6-7, 0-3).
In other GMC games, Edgerton hosts Wayne Trace and Ayersville entertains Antwerp.
SPORTS HOURS
Results may be turned in from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. Monday thru Thursday, from 9 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
No one is in the office on Sundays so Saturday's results should be reported on Saturday if they are to be printed in Monday's paper.
Results that are turned in the next day will only have final scores printed in the paper unless there are circumstances that are not controllable.

Results can also be dropped off at the Bryan Times office the night of the games before 11:30 p.m.
